The accelerating growth of the aviation industry in parallel with the leaps in technological advancements has made the need for competent and compliant human resources an increasing challenge. Indonesian pilots serve as the foundation in the aviation industry and are dutybound to participate actively to develop safety and quality in aviation transportation as demanded by their profession.
The flying profession demands numerous requirements and high standards of performance in the execution of duties. A pilot’s role and contribution is, therefore, very significant in every mission. The pilot’s role is one of the essential chains of contribution that help create a climate of safety and healthy development of acceptable standards in the industry. The pilot’s role cannot be separated from cooperative participation with the regulator, business enterprises, consumers and even manufacturers.
Indonesian pilots stand as partners in hand with the government in developing and delivering safe flight transportation with expectations of high quality and gaining confidence of the public. Under such an environment, Indonesian aviation can fulfil all requirements of legal compliance, help maintain national sovereign independence and employ quality human resources in its aviation industry.
The nature and size of Indonesian archipelago provides great potential for growth of the aviation industry. Indonesian pilots together with the aviation business can work together to create positive conditions for confidence in stable growth of the industry. In this light, a National Aviation Transportation System can be integrated to deliver greater confidence, comfort and efficiency for aviation consumers.
To that end, there needs to be a means to develop the potential of every Indonesian pilot spread throughout the world and it is in this spirit that this professional organization called Ikatan Pilot Indonesia was formed.
